At the end of 2021, Tom Ford presented a new addition to his Private Blend collection, titled Ébène Fumé, which translates to «smoked ebony wood» .
The composition includes palo santo wood, whose fragrant smoke is said to clear away negative energy; and ebony wood itself, signifying refinement and luxury.
A combination of spirituality and opulence, Ébène Fumé is described as transcendent and providing a calming soul. It is crafted on warm woody notes, fresh herbs, resins, and lush flowers. The mystical and cleansing aroma of palo santo adds earthy, woody, and floral nuances and hints of civet and labdanum.

The composition opens with accents of black pepper and violet leaves. This is followed by a heart of smoky and leathery notes brought together by the presence of Spanish labdanum absolute, papyrus, and rose. In the base, African ebony wood is enveloped in leather and resin. Its dense resonance is further enhanced with guaiac wood and natural balms.
This fragrance is woody, smoky, enveloping – it takes us back a decade to the Tom Ford we used to know.
