Let's start with the backstory. The fragrance I Don't Need A Prince By My Side To Be A Princess (or simply Princess) was released by the house of Kilian in 2018 as part of the My Kind of Love collection in a black spherical bottle. In 2022, this fragrance was "dressed up" in a standard rectangular bottle of the Narcotic Flowers collection and is now part of that line.

In 2023, in anticipation of the summer season, the house introduced a fresh version of their hit fragrance - I Don't Need A Prince By My Side To Be A Princess Eau Fraîche, created by perfumer Honorine Blanc.

According to the brand's description, Princess Eau Fraîche takes the intense femininity of the original to a new level with a bergamot accord that adds a radiant freshness to Princess's gourmand character. The composition is based on a combination of a sweet, powdery marshmallow accord and refreshing green tea. The citrus note of bergamot, highlighted by spicy ginger, adds a sparkling freshness to the fragrance.
